Every single Sauber number 2 driver since 2012 has had a crash at Silvertsone.

Sauber's number 2 drivers,

2025 – Bortoleto – Crashes during FP3 at Silvertsone in 2025.

2022-2024 – Zhou – Had a gigantic upside down crash at turn 1 during the 2022 British Grand Prix where he ended up behind the barriers.

2019 – 2021 – Giovinazzi – Spun out of his first race at Silverstone and caused a safety car which changed the course of the race.

2015-2018 – Ericsson – Had two huge shunts in his time as Sauber's second driver. In 2018 he spun off at Abbey during the race and in 2016 he had a big incident in practice but was cleared to race after checks.

2013-2014 – Gutierrez – During the 2014 British Grand Prix he had a collision with Maldonado at vale which damaged his suspension causing him to go straight on into the gravel and out of the race at abbey.

2012 – Kobayashi – Less of a crash but just as serious. Crashed into his pit lane crew requiring trips to hospital. Everyone was okay.

A pretty bizarre trend.
