The Covid-19 vaccine was associated with decreased risks of these outcomes across prespecified subgroups
A recent observational study titled Association of 2024–2025 Covid-19 Vaccine with Covid-19 Outcomes in U.S. Veterans confirmed the findings of every other previous study on the COVID vaccine- it is far from perfect, but much better than nothing. It found the vaccine was:
- 29.3% against Covid-19–associated emergency department visits
- 39.2% against Covid-19–associated hospitalizations
- 64.0% against Covid-19–associated deaths
It also found that:
The Covid-19 vaccine was associated with decreased risks of these outcomes across prespecified subgroups defined according to age (<65 years, 65 to 75 years, and >75 years), the presence or absence of major coexisting conditions, and immunocompetence status.
Although the absolute risk reductions were small, considering the vaccine’s harms are a sore arm, the overall benefits are clear, especially on a population level.
I don’t feel like I need it
Our medical establishment doesn’t feel that way, however. Their years-long fetish to repeatedly infect unvaccinated people with SARS-CoV-2 remains undiminished. In a recent interview, the head of the FDA, Dr. Marty Makary said that he does not “feel” he needs the COVID booster and falsely said it does not limit COVID’s harms.
In another interview, Dr. Makary said that he “knew” of three people who died after getting the vaccine and predictably botched basic facts about side effects, claiming the rate of vaccine myocarditis was 1 in 2,600, even though data he published showed the rate was in 37,000 only for males aged 12-24. Even then it remains a “generally short-lasting phenomena with favourable clinically course” Dr. Makary also said the previous administration operated “blindfolded” by “rubber stamping COVID boosters.” Dr. Makary said that future COVID vaccines need “updated clinical trials.”
Incredible stories
However, when it comes to entirely unproven treatments, namely leucovorin for autism, Dr. Makary is willing to laud and approve it based on “incredible stories” alone. The research so far is underwhelming, the largest trial having just 80 subjects apparently, and some of the researchers themselves have problematic backgrounds and conflicts of interest.
So, according to Dr. Makary, vaccines and medications are indicated or not, based on “stories” and how he “feels.” There is no semblance of a coherent approach to his decision-making. He is guided by vibes alone.
A doctor’s going to prescribe this and we’re going to collect data on how effective this is.
He’s not alone. That’s our entire medical establishment now. According to one news report:
In an interview with Brian Kilmeade on Fox News radio, Oz indicated that type of data will come, eventually.
“We’re going to give it. Marty’s changing the label” to allow the drug to be covered by Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, Oz said. “A doctor’s going to prescribe this and we’re going to collect data on how effective this is.”
This approach to medicine- decide first gather data later- isn’t benign. According to the article Chaos, Confusion, and Conspiracies: Inside a Facebook Group for RFK Jr.’s Autism ‘Cure’
A Facebook group set up to share information about leucovorin has been spammed by affiliate links and supplement companies trying to shame parents of autistic kids. In the days and hours after the announcement, tens of thousands of parents of autistic children joined a Facebook group, first set up in May, to share information about the drug.
The Leucovorin for Autism group was flooded with chaos, confusion, and conspiracy theories, according to a WIRED review, with parents, pediatricians, nurses, and affiliate marketers seeking to fill the void of information left by the Trump administration.
Meanwhile, the boss of them, RFK Jr. all is just spouting nonsense off the top of his addled head, saying “children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism. It’s highly likely because they are given Tylenol.” He is also admitting that they are doing research not to discover the truth about Tylenol and autism, but rather they are “doing the studies to make the proof.”
It’s not surprising that the headlines today read Trust In Federal Health Leadership Is Failing Under RFK Jr., New Poll Finds. Every day another group calls on him to resign. When MAHA doctors mindlessly repeat the phrase “gold standard science and common sense” they are not fooling anyone anymore. Feelings Based Medicine has triumphed and the American people are figuring that out at the expense of their health.
